Job Shadowing

1. Will I get paid?
No, job shadowing is voluntary for both you and the employer.

2. What are some examples of job shadowing?
Ever wanted to see what it is like to be a news anchor or news photographer? Local television stations offer job shadowing opportunties for youth. Want to be a teacher? Follow a teacher to see how they form a curriculum and teach other students. Interested in social work? Contact a service agency to see if they would be open to you visiting. If there is a particular person in mind you would like to job shadow, contact them and ask if they would be interested in it for a day.
Some employers may have security issues, such as the military or police but it never hurts to ask!
