Created in 2003, the mission of ILP Seattle is to provide guidance to young adults aged 13 to 25 years-old on how to transition out of the foster care system successfully to become thriving, independent, capable adults.

2. How did this site come about?
This site was developed in 2002-2003 as a masters thesis project by Melissa, a technical communication student. The intent of the project is to demonstrate how a strategically developed technological tool can help address needs within the social service sector. The aspiring outcome is ILPSeattle.com will assist the foster care community by providing at least one integrated connection between the community, resources, agencies and foster youth in the greater Seattle region.
